Garage Door Laser Not Working

Two types of accidental obstructions can cause the safety sensor to prevent a garage door from closing.

Sensor power reconnect the sensor to its power supply. If your garage door opener light is not working the fix might be as simple as changing the light bulb. If the door does not close completely without hesitation. If they re turned on in both the sensors then there is no issue with the power supply.

Many are surprised by this but we aren t. More and more products are being produced at a faster rate and that leads to reduced quality. Look for small led lights on the sensors. We have observed brand new light bulbs that don t work right out of the box.

A common cause of a malfunctioning garage door sensor is lack of power supply. Cycle the garage door through the opening and closing actions using the control on the garage wall or the remote unit from a vehicle. If the laser s beam is broken the garage door should reverse and sometimes the opener system will have an additional warning like flashing the garage light.
